No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no third-party tracking. APRSSwift transmits over the amateur radio network only when you enable beaconing — and APRS reports are public by design.
APRSSwift is a tool for licensed amateur radio operators. It has no user accounts and includes no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs.
- APRS is a public system. When you enable beaconing (or send a message/object), your callsign, position, and text are transmitted to the APRS network — via APRS-IS on the Internet and/or over the air — where they are publicly visible. This is the intended function of APRS and only happens when you choose to transmit.
- Location. Your location is used only to show the map and to beacon your position, and only with the permission you grant. It is not sent anywhere except as an APRS position report when you beacon.
- No servers of ours. APRSSwift connects to the APRS-IS servers you configure (e.g. rotate.aprs2.net) or to your own radio/TNC. We operate no server and receive no data from the app.
- Your passcode is computed locally from your callsign and used only to log in to APRS-IS.
- On-device data. Settings, favorites, tactical names, and the packet log are stored only on your device and are included in your encrypted device backups.
- Permissions. Microphone (AFSK sound modem) and Bluetooth (BLE TNC) are used only for the radio connections you initiate.
Deleting the app removes all local data. Questions? Email bugra@radio.org.tr.
